So I have finally gotten onto a CT (going into the second month now) which I am LOVING!!!! I really missed not being on one.

Anyway Amy is in the "So You Think You Can Design" competition over at DSA. It has been lots of fun to watch the kits that have been coming in. I have picked up a few that I have really liked.

So this week is the last week and after 5 weeks Amy is still in the competition which is FANTASTIC! But really none of us on her CT have doubted that she could do it. And this week is up to the public vote. So get over there and have a look (when I posted this there were only three entries up) and download and leave some love in support.

Well I have NO idea what is happening with this post?! I just had a picture and it was clickable etc and now its not there and I cant add a photo. So until I get it back up again here is the link:

This is why I havent been posting much....NOTHING is working right with photos!!!! If anyone has ANY ideas on why the photos suddenly started to go all funny size wise etc I would love to know! Also why icons just plan dont work in the editor.

After school activities

I have just finished reading "Planning With Kids" and her post "10 Tips For Managing After School Activities" She is a mum of 5 and has fantastic ideas and I can use whatever I can get right now.
So I commented on another post where she mentioned after school activities asking her about what she does after school for her Prepie (first year at school here in Victroia.)

Weither the above post was inspired from that comment or not (she has been scheduling her posts since the new baby arrived in Jan) Im just glad she has put it up.
She has quoted Kathy Walker whose work I love and I have read her book "Whats the Hurry" but I always like to hear how someon is going with it in everyday life. And I know Nicole uses what Kathy says a fair bit.

So a big thank you to Nicole for writing that piece.

Some new things

I have just read a post over at Picklebums called "Spend or Save" that could have been written by me. Although she writes HEAPS better than me. So instead of writting a huge comment over there I thought I would actually blog. Yep I know a shock.....AND someone might actually read this. I have lost all following by now but you reap what you sew.

I have secretly (not such a secret now) been wanting to get a few new bath mats and a few new towels for me and DH. Now the dilema is that my towels arent that old. Certainly NOT old enough to just discard but they were given to us and not really my choice of colour. So I have really been wanting to get something that is "me/us." I do need some bath mats though. The ones I have are fraying and I actually have no idea where a couple of them have come from.

Remembering that we dont REALLY need new towels. I have been thinking that maybe I could layby them and that way Im not spending ALL that amount of money at the same time. So I therefore feel better about it. Im not big on spending but I am big on recycling as much as possible and op shopping too. But sometimes I just like to get something new!

Maybe I can go and get those bath mats and what I can salvage of the old ones turn into face washers (I need more now DD#4 is eating solids) and then dream about the towels for another time. Although it wouldnt hurt to make some of the REALLY old towels into face washers as well. Thanks for the tip Kate!

UPDATE: I have also been looking to find the "curtains" I posted about and I am still to find them. I have had a look on the website but they dont seem to be there.
I still dont have the photos of the possum off the camera yet either.

Heat wave modifications

I have just put up some temporary curtains! We have been asking the landlord for a few years now for them but we both never seem to get it all co-ordinated.
So today I have put up a sheet and a bed liner on the girls bedroom windows. I just hope that it actually keeps a little bit of the heat out. It is already 35oC and its 5 to 9am. At 7am this morning it was 30oC with the forecast for today being 43oC. We will definatley hit that one and probably more I am thinking. After this post I will be ringing the real estate agent.

I have also been trying to find an alternative to putting up something that we will have to repair any holes or paintwork. While at the hair dressers on Tuesday (and the kids were playing happily) I was reading a home magazine and found the perfect thing. After a bit of a chat with my dad (who left yesterday) I think it can be done. I will see if I can find a article of it on the magazines website later.

Another thing for those who have kids starting school this year (Monday for us.....heat permitting) here are a couple of great blogs that will help with the transition.

Things that happened today.....

The impending dread feeling that I had most of yesterday was still here.....adding to that I have been in a foul mood.

We are in a heat wave. The weather today hit over the expected 41oC to 43oC! Its not looking to good for school next week either. Amey's first day is going to be in the mid to high 30's.

The air conditioner has had a visit from our local possum population who decided in their wisdom to chew through the pipe that supplies the water to the unit. NOT HAPPY!
The repairmen arrived and patched it up but then said the manufactuerer WHO no doubt I wont be able to get out here soon enough has to fix it *gggrrr*.

The net has been down most of the day and I have only been able to get on for more than 5mins at a time until the last hour. At least the urgent things for today are all done *phew*

There was a "news break" on TV a few minutes ago saying electricity companies wont be able to gaurantee supplies. This is one of my worst nightmares with four little kids in the house and one of them being only 6 months old. We have already had one black out tonight. I am just glad I am using the laptop otherwise I would have lost all my work. Only problem is though if the power goes out I have NO idea where I would go. It is not like I know of people who live in different grids to me. I suppose if all else fails I will pack up the car and go and visit DH at his work. Saying that another "all else fails" is to go for a LONG drive. I think I will go out in the morning to get some petrol in the car.

On a positve note........Grandma is hopefully coming down to stay for a few days and see Amey for her first day at school. I just hope that the air con and power all stay on otherwise I have another problem there.

OK I have that all off my chest now and I can hopefully relax for the rest of the night. Poor Kaela has been so upset and unhappy today. She has had HEAPS to drink so that is a good thing. I just dont think she likes the weather.

I have been reading a couple of parenting blogs lately that have been FANTASTIC. The one that I go to regulary and always get something out of is "Parenting With Kids". She also does a fantastic menu plan each week usually with a recipe attached AND the shopping list attached as well. Check out this one for the Mexibake DH offered to cook last night and so I told him I wanted to try this one out. He got nearly a 1kg of mince so it went a really long way with the girls eating the part that didnt go into the oven. AND they ALL ate it!!!! Can you tell we have been having issues with them eating?! I also gave them some plain corn chips to eat it with so that was a great novelty for them as well.
Also check out the e-book that is on there. The tips are just great!

Another blog that I read is the "Family Value" one. It also has a forum attached to it that is great! Although I have been slack and havent been on for ages. Although it has a lot to do with being sick (all of us) and not being able to be on here to long. But there are some great resources and competitions etc. They are also setting up a "Family Value Family Card" that is free to sign up for a short time. Oh and that is for the Aussies that read my blog.

Ok and as I am writting this I think I may have already posted this site before but then my memory is shot!

Also on the home front......it is toilet training (TT) season! Yep Katie is getting the jist of it all. So far it has been two weeks and only 3 accidents! I am VERY impressed. She has had a couple of near misses with #2's but then that is one of the last things they are meant to be able to get. So now we have one and a half in nappies. This is going to be the longest period of time that we will have had relatively nappiless since having kids. That of course is until the baby comes so that will make it about 3 months!!! Now if I can get myself into using cloth more often again the budget will be heaps better off!!!

Other things happening (and doing my head in) is finding a school for Amey! OMG!!! This is one of the hardest things I have had to decide on yet. Yep and its me doing most of the deciding....well in a way. DH looks at the info and says "that looks good" and that is after I have narrowed it down. I will try and get him to a couple of the tours but the hours are just not practical right now.
Within about an 8km radius there are over 10 schools that are public! I have narrowed it down to 3 at the moment. I have an appointment for a tour at one (the closest) and there is a fair at another one next weekend. AND the other one has an open day (well really night) mid next month as well.
So its all happening. Now I just need to get a babysitter so I can actually get to all of these things. I can see myself relying on one a lot this year. I have over half a dozen things to go to at night in the next month and a half that I just dont know how I am going to get to.

What else.....oh its our wedding anniversary this weekend! Yep NO kids for 24hrs!!! AND a bonus being that the older two get to go to the footy on Saturday and I think another sleep over! Im still back on the no kids for 24hrs.......not sure the last time that happened.....*thinking*......ok I know it has happened and it was before our last anniversary but I just cant remember when.
So this is much deserved I think!
I just cant wait to sleep in! MacKenzie has been driving us up the wall. She has been getting up at 2am and staying up till about 5am....on weekends. I dont think she likes DH putting her to bed as she has slept through the last couple of nights. Then of a morning she has been screaming her head off to get up. She will literally go for HOURS if you let her. I have tried resettling and putting her back down and its just not working. I have NO idea what is wrong but I so need more sleep.
Having said that I really should be sleeping now. I only have Katie up. Kenzie fell asleep at the highchair so went down well. And Amey is at Kinder. DH went to play with her and is bringing her back......thank goodness. Otherwise I would have had to gone and picked her up with the other two. That is all happening because he was meant to take her to Mini Golf yesterday but we both forgot he had a meeting at work. So he was up to late. He will of course be held to the Mini Golf as she will NOT forget!!!
Ok see Im rambling.......enough from me for now :)

The other one is Tara Dunstans she is also doing the newsletter sign up bit at the moment. Oh and while you are there check out her freebie section as it is pretty darn good! You HAVE to get the alpha. Its the one that is in the "Dont Presume" LO that I did last week.

Its Just Hit Me!

You would have thought that it would have caught up to me before now but no. I finally feel REALLY, REALLY tired! The funny thing is that its NOT pg related but the fact that DH has changed his shift and getting home even later (if thats even possible.) My sleep has been pretty broken with 4hrs at a time. I am still on his old shift times and up late when I should be sleeping. I really have to force myself to get more sleep.
I am also the only one getting up early to the girls the majority of the mornings. But it is all working out pretty well and things seem to be working for us with the new hours. Funny thing is that tonight I really want to go to bed but I feel like it would be a waste of time not "doing" something. I have this thing when Im pg that I have to be "doing" something while watching TV. I will have to get a couple of scarves going for the girls for winter so at least my hands are doing something but I can sit up in bed and do it.

Yep still trying to convince DH to get me a laptop so I can scrap in bed.....oh what bliss!

its not a good idea to print off 500 envelopes manualy through the printer. Unfortunately it wont take more than about 5 at a time without misfeeding. Its all for the kinder and I just figured that as I use the most of them I might as well get it all done at the same time. I did just finish though so it only really took me 3 days to do it all in :) Now to go and get the photocopying done for the enrollment offers. Then stuff 90 odd of them :) At least I dont have to print off the logos right...lol!

Also I think I really need to teach Macca to say "more" she currently has this high pitched sqweal that she uses everytime she wants more food.

Hmm a bit over a month since I last posted. Suppose I'm getting better right ;)

I'm currently sitting here listening to Macca intermittently crying (which she has been doing on and off all night......make that day) and counting down the hours (less than 2 now) till the PBP chat starts. Although right now I cant even get onto the site.....whatever thats about?! No DH to disturb me and talk all the way through the chat (like last time....what was with that?!) and hopefully all 3 of the girls sleeping peacefully. I just have to get something to drink and the chocolate out now :)

Well the question has been asked......"Hows the pregnancy going?" To be honest it doesn't really register till I have a bit of quiet time by myself at night. OR those terrible Braxton Hick hit me during the day. So that is all good I suppose.

Monday I had our last "official" ultrasound and they still couldn't tell what the sex of this baby is. I honestly don't think she was trying to hard but anyway. If we have another girl she will be nameless for a while as I don't plan on picking a name that I'm not going to use. I don't want to spend hours pouring over names and then not use it. We have a boys name that we had when we had Amey so that one is a no brainer.

Oh and I'm still trying to decide about the hospitals. The hospital we had Jack in is moving location so I feel HEAPS more comfortable in having this baby there. I just couldn't do that in the same building as I had Jack in and run the risk (yes probably very small) of somehow getting the same room as when I had him. The memories are just still WAY to strong. AND also this baby is due SO close to his birthday as well. DH isn't to keen as he would have to travel extra to get there and then go off to work. He hasn't taken time off when we have bubs since Amey. Mainly because we have family come down for nearly 6wks after the baby is born so we don't want to overlap. It really makes it HEAPS easier for us so it works well. BUT he will have a day off the day the baby is born of course! Anyway as I have to have a cesarean due to many medical reasons there is a chance that it will happen on the Thursday which means he will only have to take that day off that week.....so no excuses for lack of visits!

Yep his shift changed as of Monday and his now working longer days later in the day and gets Fridays off. SO that should make it easy when bubs comes. Although I'm not sure how we will go with keeping the noise levels down till midday each day......its proving a little stressful as the kids just don't get it yet......but then I don't expect them to at their ages either. Kinder goes back next week so that should make it easier. It doesn't matter which combination of kids it is but as long as there is only two they are very quiet!!!

A bit dusty!!!

Oh dear I didnt realise how neglected I had left this blog! I am so sorry. Things have been pretty busy around here that is for sure. July is a pretty emotional month and then it seems to flow through to August. Then here it ends up being the silly season really early!

I have actually been holding off posting lately just in case family came by here. BUT now I can share my news......we are having another baby! Yes thats right #5 is on the way. This one is 18wks today and things are going really well. I have been pretty sick with morning sickness but I am hoping that after this head cold I am suffering from that I will regain some sense of normality! We are going to find out the sex this time as well but the scan yesterday was just way to unclear for much so its another 4 or so weeks before we find out.

Other than that our oldest Amey is in 4yr old Kinder this year and she is growing up so much. I am hoping that a lot of our problems are behind us with her health. She seems to be hearing heaps better and her speech and behaviour have improved.

Katie is 2 and pretty good really with the "terrible twos." I am comparing that to Amey who was not hearing well at that stage and tantrums all the time. She is such a clown and a joy to have around.....when shes not fighting shes even better.

MacKenzie is such a cutie. She tries and keeps up with the other two but of course cant. Although she wont be that far off it. She is walking everywhere if not running and you really have to keep an eye on her. When she is told to come back she gives the cheekiest grin and runs the opposite direction. Other than that all is well.

Scrapping I have started the ADSR with Kellie this week. We had our first challenge and I finished it tonight. You can check out our blog here. Im really looking forward to it and hoping that it will bring some of that long lost mojo back. I really feel I need a bit of a boost there and something 'new.' What that is.....I have no idea!!!

I have also lost a few CT's with some retiring or retiring their CT's for re-assessment. So now I only have Tara Dunstan, CLD and Rachel Martin left. I was thinking of picking up another one but really I am happy with what I have at the moment. Although if any of the designers that fell by the wayside were to ask me to come back I would more than likely not :)

How Has It All Been Going?

Well the decluttering hasnt been to bad. I got rid of three big boxes last week which I was really pleased about. I put one in the house so that I could fill it as I went. Instead of just leaving the things in a pile and putting them somewhere to go into the box.....eventually. I refused to look in it so I didnt get things out. Although I had to make sure a couple of times that the girls didnt "add" anything in there as well. Like Katies "Pukky Dog" now THAT would have been a disaster for sure.

There's a bit going on but its all a bit of a mess in my head so I will have to come back and write. One good thing though is that Amey has her operation (no I havent mentioned it before I dont think) next Monday. I am hopeing that this will be the last set of grommits in for a while. It really is sad to see her struggle to hear and her speech being an issue. Although I have been proactive in getting it all fixed up. I SO dont want her to go through what I went through as a kid at school. Gee that is only a year and a bit away for her.

I will come back and write a bit more about my last week or so.

Declutter My Life....ok well my house.

I think thats a big enough deal in its own. There was a thread on PBP about not having a tidy house. I sooooo feel that way right now. AND I know that I should do something about it. Especially when DH makes comments about things regularly.

My excuse (I have decided thats really what it is) is that I get sick of the house being mess up by the kids not long afterwards. BUT I have realised that 1 yes it is an excuse but 2 that the less clutter there is the easier the kids mess will be to clean up :) Have I really been that brain dead for this long?! Ok dont answer that.

THEN there was also a post on DST about decluttering. WHICH I think is my problem and something that I need to work on. So thats what I am going to do. I made a trip to www.flylady.com and refreshed myself on some things about clutter and I am ready....well sorta. If you want to check out a declutter "How To" then check it out here.

That is it for me tonight. I still have 2 LO's to do for CT's requirements and everything went flying out the window with my time schedule when I jumped (<--read staggered) into bed on Sunday night and DH was burning up with a fever. Two days later and I had three sickies on my hand. So far so good and MacKenzie and I are well.....*phew* So now its rush, rush and no kinder tomorrow for Amey. Although thats not a bad thing as it was a Fathers Day thing and DH wasn't able to make it due to work. I had to get a sub in the form of my FIL. Ok I really am going now!

Yep I have been shockingly slack! It does though take me a while to recover from Jack's birthday. THEN life got in the way....lol. I thought it was about time that I posted and there was a thread on PBP that made me decide its time enough.

We had our kinder fundraiser which was a Trivia Night and it seems to have gone REALLY well. We have a committee meeting this week so we should get how much we actually brought in. It was a pretty good night EXCEPT when we got home DH's mate (who was pissed) decided to sit on Amey's car seat. Only someone who had to much to drink and no idea about kids would think that a 100kg+ person could sit on a car seat with a weight limit of 25kgs. I take that back only someone who was drunk could think that.
Anyway the next day I HAD to go out and get another car seat (he paid for) for a very upset little girl.

The worst day of my life.......

Was today 3yrs ago. Our son Jack Riley was stillborn today after 3 days of labour at 20.3wks gestation. There isnt much to say but that it was a long and heartbreaking process that went over 10wks before we had him. There were some pretty severe complications and by the time I had him it was starting to get complicated for me physically as well.

It almost feels like it was yesterday and then other times it seems so long ago. I still miss him dearly even though we knew him for such a short time. There is still that child that is missing from our lives that will forever be apart of our family.

I like being able to talk about Jack in general conversation and being able to refer to him easily. And I do regularly although others seem to have a problem with it more than I do. But today its harder to talk about it all. This explains some of my emotions in a way....

I didnt get the Christina Renee gig for July. BUT they are doing spots for Aug & Sept. So who knows I might still get a guest gig yet. There really is so much talent out there that I am far from suprised but as they say "ya gotta be in it to win it" right! Im still short for a Guest spot for July though.

Yep its about time I posted! I have been pretty busy and getting my mojo back which has been nice. My mum is down for a couple of weeks so weekends have been pretty full which is great! The girls are loving having her around for a while. Amey actually went into meetings with her and has had a blast the last couple of days. She sooooo did NOT want to come home. If she didnt have kinder tomorrow I was more than happy for her to stay with mum for another night.

BUT I think mum needs a bit of a break from her as well as she has all three of them on Saturday. We have a family wedding to go to so it was great that mum was here to babysit otherwise one of us wasnt going. Its just way to expensive to have a babysitter for so long. The wedding starts at 3pmish but it takes us an hour to get there at least and the reception doesnt start till about 6pm a few hours there and the drive home you get the idea.

So anyway I have been doing a bit of scrapping lately and really enjoying it. Here are a few that I have done lately......

This LO was done for a try out for a guest position for Christina Renee's CT. She has her grand opening on the 9th of July and needed some more CT memebers to help do LO's. Everyone who applied was asked to do a LO with every item of a kit she had in her store. I thought what the heck they can only say no right! Anyway they are making a decision today CST So I will probably be in bed and wont know till tomorrow morning if I got in or not. As its nearly 11pm here. All I can say is I should be so lucky!

Well it is another sad day. In the last couple of weeks a few more designers have retired! I cant believe it! One is Laura Corzine. I was a guest on her CT of May. She is finishing up VERY soon. I think this week actually. Next is Lena Bradenburg! I was meant to be her guest starting this week. She has had to retire for health reasons as well. WOW what is happening!?!?!! It is so sad to see this happening to people who really love their designing so much. I can TOTALLY understand though why these wonderful designers have had to finish up though.

On a positive note! MY MOJO IS BACK!!!! YEA!!!!! I had just lost it there for a few weeks after doing that album. I suppose my inspiration had gone there for a while. I have to catch up on a few CT requirements as I haven't been able to keep up to the standard I would like. I think working with Dale Ann's templates has helped too. They really are so easy to work with and I think it has helped to get me back into the swing of things.

On the home front......the girls are still in the same room and still not getting to sleep at a decent time. On a positive note they aren't getting up till about 8am. That might seem late to some but thinking about what time I get to bed (12:30-1am) its not that great but better than 5:45am! Mum is here this weekend so we are going to Ikea to organize some more storage to get them in different rooms. I at least know that Amey does want to sleep and be in bed she is just distracted by Katie (*ggrrr*)
We are also looking at getting a new lounge (from DH's work...barely used) and getting rid of the other one so that might allow for some more storage in the lounge room as well. Also one of my BIL's is moving out this week so that will get rid of a whole heap of things from our garage that we have been meaning to give to charity. Its time for a spring clean...well winter clean.

I'm still not getting much more sleep but my body seems to have coped with it so far a bit better than I thought I should be. I also said to DH today that I need a weekend to myself so I can do some thing that I want/need to do. I suggested he go to his parents place with the girls but his not to keen on that she its me to go away. I'm not keen on that as I want to have computer access. He says I don't need to.....Hmmmm.....will have to think how to get all for of them out now!!! Although a spa retreat doesn't sound to bad I would rather do that with him iykwim.

Ok enough from me for tonight. I have our Kinder committee meeting tonight so I had better get ready for it. I was going to be ready by now but my BIL was around and my SIL is due in less than an hour now and the place is a mess. I just hope she doesn't feel she has to do anything....although the dishes would be bad....lol!

A bit of sewing

I had an idea today to make some little travel pillows for the girls for our trip. So off I went to "Spotlight" (big sewing shop) and went for a bit of a shop around. I couldnt get the right size pillow to cover so I had to stuff some pillows instead. I found some facewashers and thought I would just put a back on them. It took me ages to get through the checkouts as usual! I found a bit of fabric that I thought would make a great quilt or playmat for a baby girl. As it was only $1 (although I got charged $2 :( ...) I decided it was worth the wait. I think I was there for about 15mins which is almost a record for us....lol.

Anyway we got out alive and in once piece (I only had Katie with me *phew*) I waited till DH went to work and got started on them. I used a terry nappy for the back of them (we only use those nappies for spews and that sort of thing) sewed them together and stuffed them with a pillow I brought (which you make a cover for) and cut open for the insides. And that was about it! I added a little bit for terry to Amey's as she has what she calls "nammy's" as her security blanket. She love it!

I didnt really want to have two Dora's the same but didnt have to much choice and Katie is going through a "MINE!" stage so I thought I would let sleeping dogs lie on this one.

A Day In The Life Of Me!

I thought I would try a bit of a different take on my blog for a while. I have been doing LO's but a bit brain fried after my 27 4x6" stint. I did two LO's last night but I still have to upload all my LO's into DST.
Then I will have to have a HUGE slog at putting them all on here. I also still have to work on a system of storing them with credits. Not sure how to go about that yet. Anyone got any ideas? I would appreciate them.

I also have one of my announcements confirmed! Tara is pg!!! She is going to have bubs #3! It is sooooo exciting BUT the bad news attached with that is that she will be finishing up designing. OK so "A Day In The Life Of Me!" My days start off pretty slowly...sometimes. I will go with yesterday. MacKenzie was up at 8am (late for her its usually 8am.) Thats for her bottle. Amey then gets up either a bit before that or a bit after and goes to the toilet. Then MacKenzie has stopped going back to bed after her feed for very long so about 1hr (max) after that one of us is up.

Then starts the rest of the breakie runs. Amey and Katie have Weet-bix and sultanas with milk. Although Katie still likes her bottle. I think thats because MacKenzie has one and no other reason. Amey like to watch ABC Kids for a bit then either DH or I get up depending on who got the "sleep in."

The morning is filled with playing and spending time with daddy. Lunch and then DH is off to work after that. I then get on the computer and do a few things while Katie and hopefully (but never likely) Amey goes down to sleep. I then have to feed Kenzie again in there and she has playtime as well. Then its time to get ready for bed. So dinner is on and things get started with bath and bed.

The fun begins after dinner....NOT!!! The two older girls are now in the same room so they play instead of sleep and its starting to drive me crazy! Last night they were still up after 9pm and NOT sleeping. I ended up putting Amey to bed in my bed so she would at least get some sleep. I cant believe she just keep on going and going.
Then it was "me" time. SCRAPPING!!! I just love that time of the day! DH wasnt home till nearly midnight so it does make for a pretty long day.

Of course washing happens although not always put away. Errands run. Kinder attended. I would have to say though that my most relaxing time of the day is between 10pm and midnight when its just me....well 3 (usually) sleeping children!

Its been a while!

Yep way to long. We have had sickness after sickness hit our household and I seem to have gotten it all as well. First I got the flu about 4wks ago and was getting over that. Went to a party and a lot of people got gastro. All 5 of us managed to get it although MacKenzie got it the longest which was a bit worrying. Then we had a week of all being OK and then Katie got sick. Amey and then I got it AGAIN! Thank goodness Amey didnt get it for to long and was able to go to Kinder. That would have been the last straw for both of us I think.

THEN last weekend we decided to move the girls into the same room again. Not sure if that was a good thing or not. They still arent getting to sleep quickly but at least its getting a little earlier each night. Last night they were both so tired that they went to sleep pretty early. I was happy about that. Also happy that its lasted a week. Last time (this is the third attempt) they were BOTH up till 11pm or later. It really was stressful.

I have several announcements coming up in the next week to do with my scrapping. I am on Chris Turnbull's CT!!! She is a wonderful lady and has fantastic designs. You really should go and check them out at PBP She is also have a CT call NOW!!! You can go and check it out here.

Another one I can announce is a Guest CT spot with Lena Brandenburg!!! I cant wait!! I applied for her CT and she was flooded. I was on the shortlist (which wasnt that short...lol) and so got a guest position which I am more than happy with :) I start that in about 2wks.

I have a couple of other good news laced with sad news. No everything is ok here no deaths (thank goodness) but I just cant announce it just yet.

100th post

Wow this is my 100th post on this blog. I am pretty pleased about that. I should have gotten here earlier but well life does that to you.

A few things and shameless promotion in this post......

Firstly some of you may or may not have heard of DebF. For those that have this is not new news. Those that havent then go and have a look at this thread at PBP For those that havent shopped yet (including myself) please go and buy something. Sick!

I have been sick on and off for the last two weeks. I have been trying to keep the flu at bay and failed Tuesday last week spending most of the day in bed. I had to ring DH to come home from work as I was getting worse. Then I got rid of that and by Thursday Amey was vomiting (Katie was sick 24hrs on Monday) and so on. She was well by Friday and then DH was sick. So we packed Amey off to her Aunties and then grandparents for the night.

We still had two kids and were both tag teaming it to the toilet all day and night but at least the younger two both sleep during the day. I'm still not 100% but basically fine. Just feel sick at times. I think MacKenzie got the worst of it though. Poor little mite. She has had it both ends. She had two Huge projectile vomits this morning that had both DH and I jumping out of bed. She even managed to get it onto the floor. Pretty impressive really considering she is still in the bassinet!

So after all of that I have not posted many LO's on here. I think I counted something 14 LO's or altered pieces since my last post. *sigh* WAY to much for me to be posting on here. I have spent most of the night already posting and uploading everywhere. SO alas my blog suffers again. BUT I will post the links to the ones in my DST gallery that are missing....here goes.....

I sorta jumped the gun on starting with Karen but I really wanted to finish off a couple of challenges and the "Baby's Got Style" kit by Karen was what I was looking for.

So the first one is one I did for the Hodge Podge #3 challenge. I thought I should give it a go. I really like the challenges that Gina Millers CT do but I can not be buying something all the time if I dont have it in my current stock pile to be able to enter (sorry ladies I really do love the challenges though.) So Hodge Podge it is :)

The challenge was to: Keep your photo(s) towards the MIDDLE of your paper. They had to be TRIMMED or framed or somehow bordered; some FLOWERS on there as well! And aside from maybe some paint or stitching STAY AWAY from the edge of your paper!

The journaling reads:

Everyone says that their kids are important to them. I agree with that and don’t dispute someone’s love for their kids. In 2003 we decided that it was now or never. We were getting married. So in about 5 months (including December in that) we organized a wedding and did it. We got married. In that time we found out that I was pregnant again and our bundle of joy was due to be born in November. I was a little under 3 months pregnant when we got married so hadn’t had the 12wk scan yet. My GP wasn’t going to give me the 12wk scan as we had no problems with Amey’s pregnancy so no need right. I convinced her at about 9wks that maybe a 12wk scan was necessary as I thought I was further along.
The scan was about 2 wks after our wedding. Scott didn’t come with me because I thought it was going to be routine. I got there had the scan (videoed) and was told to come in the next day to have another one. Not a problem I thought. There was something wrong with the babies liver. I searched the net. A baby can survive that. Went in the next day and again Scott wasn’t with me as I thought it was routine. The Dr was checking me out this time not just the sonographer.
That’s when our world crashed down. It resulted in many appointment with numerous Dr’s. Heaps of tests and not so happy a ending. On the 9th of July 2004 our son Jack Riley was born at 20.3wks gestation. Sadly Amey learnt at a VERY young age to say “its ok mummy no cry” and getting me tissues. It was so sweet that it usually made me cry more. I would have to pull myself together to and let her know that I was ok just a bit sad.
Since then I have gone on to have 2 more healthy daughters. So I hold my kids a little closer. If that is a good or bad thing I don’t know. I suppose after all we have been through we appreciate that they are happy and healthy.

I REALLY hope that mum doesnt read this before mothers day! I made a few of these for mothers day. One for my mum, Grandma and MIL. It was so much FUN to do and quick and easy. And the instructions were easy to follow. The only thing I can say though is to take note of is if you put a title on the front page make sure it’s the right way up. I didn’t and didn’t realize till I had finished and was ready to put them together (opps.) It still looks fine though :)

I didn't want to have to many posts so that the ANZAC day post would go to far down the list before Wednesday. Hence the combination post.....not that it matters that they are combined or anything. I suppose its just my weird/quirky sense or need to have everything specifically organised......lol.

First the blog prompt:
Spend 5 minutes writing about your advice for having a fulfilled life.

Started at 9.22pm

Wow what can I say about having a fulfilled life. I'm not sure that mine is totally fulfilled. I every so often think about how I can improve it or things I should try etc. But really I am pretty happy with things as they are. I just have to implement change occasionally to kick start things again. Well so far no advice for someone else.

So having said the above I suppose one thing would be to not let others tell you you cant do something. That would be a big thing for me. Someone who has influence in my life (from day dot this is) tells me I cant do something and for some reason I think I cant. AND I am not one to go with the "crowd" or anything like that either. I do have an opinion of my own......when I'm not trying to be politically correct.

Ok still not much advice there and its nearly 5 min's. I think another thing would be to be able to love yourself. That is important. If you cant do that then you cant love your life and be as fulfilled as you would want to be.

If that all makes sense.......well time is up.

I have decided to ditch as many chemicals in our household as possible. Thats EVERYTHING in regards to the laundry and bathroom. I am pretty much fine in all the other areas of the house already. Nothing to dramatic except for DH relies on the WAY to much to clean the bathroom. I have been reading more and more about things in cosmetics and that sort of thing. I WANT OUT!!! Here is my latest LO. I thought this was going to be really hard but it was easy. Some advice given for the challenge was to "not over think it. SOOOO true. Wow I just realised (and did a bit of a count up) that I have now hit 100 digi LO's with the last one I just posted. WOW!!! That is an average of 12.5 per month. Considering I had about 2 months there were I couldnt use the computer (average goes up to: 16.6) that is pretty impressive!!! Anyway I think I will leave it for tonight. I have done 3 LO's today and I really should have been cleaning out my bathroom cupboard. THATS a whole other story. I will have to fill you all in on that one in the next couple of days. Its just taking things up a notch and into a new "phase" of our lives. Sounds major huh!?

I took a whole heap of shots of the girls at the park at the start of the month. This is one of my favourites. It is so hard to get anything from my girls as they just wont stand still for 30 seconds. So when I saw this one I just HAD to scrap it. I think Betty Jo's kit works perfectly for this.

Here is my next LO in my Australiana series. Well I suppose you could call it that as that is what its turning out to be. I still have a few to go but I think I will have to try something different next month with Tara's designs otherwise she is going to get board with it....lol....as will I!

I slowed down there a bit for this month as the last couple of days I had a migraine and then I had to go to the Kinder Committee meeting last night. BUT I have worked out that I have been doing about a LO a day :o I am quite shocked at that in a way. BUT I am really enjoying it which of course is the main thing.

I cant believe I forgot this one......This is one that I did just because I can. Its nothing to do with a CT but it was part of a challenge on PBP Go and have a look its lots of fun. Anyway this photo was taken on Sunday. Katie has this thing for birds at the moment. Although its usually to yell out at the top of her lungs "BIEERRRD!" and then run to see them. Of course in the process scarying them to death nearly. DH taught her to make this noise that she does first in an attempt to call them. I cant think of how to explain it although at 1am in the morning I did work it out but now cant remember what that way.

I sort of miss some of these on the day because of time differences so occassionally I have to double up hence the two days together.

TUESDAY
Free Advertising!! Are there three products in your life that you just love (favorite scrapping designer? a cleaning product that does what it claims? or your favorite restaurant?)? Tell us about them! (Add links and maybe we'll decide we can't live without them either )

1. Digi Scrapbooking - I would have to say that not only is it a life saver for me to unwind with but I can see a long term purpose to it. I love that my family will be able to look back on it and see what they were like as kids. What I am like and an insite into the family.

2. My camera - I love my camera. Where would I be without it. I find I am taking it with me more and more places and finding heaps to photograph.

3. Usana which is something that I have just picked up recently. I did the "Reset" program and lost 4kgs (8.8lbs) in the 5 days!! I also lost my cravings for chocolate and sweet things. I no longer NEED them :) Well worth the money for sure.

WEDNESDAY

In honor of Sibling's Day, talk about your relationship with your siblings. If you don't have any, tell us how you feel about that.

Well I have one brother. Thats it. He is younger than me and lives in Sydney. To be honest I suppose we both dont know a whole heap about each others lives unless we call mum as we dont really call each other much. Although having said that I dont really think we feel a "need" to either. We seem to do fine with the relationship we have. I cant say that we have ever been "close" but I wouldnt say we werent either. He will tell me stuff he wont tell mum and dad (like when his in trouble.) He asks me for money (if you read this PK you still owe me from last time) and sometimes a bed when he comes down to visit. I havent seen him for...oww...about a year or more now but hopefully he will be at Grandma's 80th in June this year.

Spring always means change or growth. Any changes or growth going on in your life?

Its Autumn here so we are going into a dormant stage really. So I suppose my life is a bit reflective of the season at the moment. But then it seems to be like that way to much for me. I do want to be able to get out more with the kids. I think that Katie is just getting to a great stage where its not going to be a huge issue to get out with the three of them as much anymore YEA! Although you wouldn't know it with the weather it has been beautiful here!!!

I cant really say there is anything huge going on in my life at the moment. Things seem to be on a smooth running base although I have that "feeling." It feels like something is going to tip the boat. I hate that feeling but it does make it easier when it comes along as because I have that dread (usually) it never seems as bad as I have been feeling it could be. I hope that all makes sense.....lol. It is only in one or two areas though.

Everything else seems to be going well. I don't know I have always had that "knowing" thing all my life not as in Alison (Medium) type thing but just a I don't know only way I can explain it is "knowing." But more based on an impression and feeling not "seeing" it. And not in a spooky way either. I don't say much about it either as most people think you are freaky and I learned at a very young age not to say anything. So it is pretty big to put it out there on here.

I would have to say that it is my kids when it comes to scrapbooking. Well pretty much everything in life in a way. They make me want to be a better person so that they can grow up to be caring, loving, responsible, hardworking and respectful adults.

FRIDAY:

How about a weekly wrap up and also your plans for Easter weekend.
Well we are half way through the weekend now. We have an inspection of our house (renting) by the real estate agents on Tuesday so its a bit of a catch up on everything weekend. We also have the long weekend to do it so most of it will be done on Monday no doubt...lol. Tomorrow we have the family breakfast at a plant nursery in the morning. Then off to the IL's for the easter egg hunt for the kids. Should be good as we have both the older girls joining in this year.

What do you do when you find yourself overbooked? The VERY rare times that this happens...if its things that are just going to be cutting it WAY to fine then something has to go. Usually whatever if for the girls comes first (especially if its health related) iykwim.
Are you someone that pushes through and collapses at the end? I would push through and collapse....yep thats me.
Cancel out selectively and give yourself breathing room? Sorta answered in the question two above.
Or maybe curl up in the fetal position and cry? LOL sometimes!!! I have been known to do this when I was pregnant.....lol.

OK this is a one off that I did for Liz Pike of Strawberry Wine Designs (hmmm I LOVE strawberry wine....the drinking type that is.) Are you the partying type? Yes but no.....I know, I know there's indecision in that. I suppose it really depends. On what type of party it is...am I out of my comfortzone, do we have the kids with us, who is there. There are just so many factors. I have to say though that recently I havent really been. Its all be "family" ones and they seem to be so much "work." I would rather be at home with DH and the kids with a couple of mates over instead.

Write about a party you've had or attended. We have had heaps of parties.....the last one that was just from our little family (ie DH, myself and the kids) was Katie's 1st birthday. I was a bit over a month of having MacKenzie. It wasnt to bad. We had it in a park (first time for us to take it away from home) and had a BBQ. No cleaning up we just took most of it home and the majority of it was disposible.

Ever wanted to be the recipient of a surprise party? Hmm no not really. I dont like suprises. I would however love to have a party that I didnt have to think about or organise and do all the work for it. Now THAT would be nice.

It was a story and not just an answer to the questions. Even though she answered them all. I also like the name of the blog....Quirky is something that I have been called before (regulary) and I dont mind that tag. So whenever I see or hear of someone else with that title I always check it out :)

Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? Nope.
If not, what's changed? My surname now I'm married.
If you could change your name (first or middle, no last names for safety please!), what would it be? Hmmm never really think of that. I suppose I did as a kid but now it just seems to "fit" and is "right." I don't even use or have a nickname as such Just doesn't seem right. Hope that made sense to someone.
Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?) Mum and dad changed what they were going to name me I think just before I was born. Mum I think ultimately was responsible.
Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why? Cant think of any fight now. I suppose every name is ok because it is someones name after all. BUT some I would never name my children iykwim.

Did you, or did you not, eat your vegetables as a youngster? Yep always ate mine and some. Me and my brother would swap each other. He would eat my meat and I would have his vegies. I thought it was fair....and nope Im not a vegetarian but pretty close according to my DH.
What sorts of veggies will and won't you eat nowadays? Eat pretty much anything still. As long as its cooked right....ie Eggplant.

Its not easy to get Easter elements either. Hence my other LO lower down (the two I did with the girls and their bunnies) I had to take pics WITH rabbits.
